JUSTIN HAMILTON
Disfiguring CEP Porphyria
.jpg)
Justin Hamilton was born with an extremely rare genetic condition called Congenital Erythropoietic Porphyria (CEP) a disorder that makes him dangerously sensitive to sunlight. Symptoms often begin immediately after birth or in early childhood, and for those living with CEP, even a few minutes of UV exposure can lead to extreme blistering, lifelong scarring, disfigurement, and, in many cases, the loss of facial features or fingers.
Other common complications include excessive hair growth, brownish teeth, an enlarged spleen, fragile bones, vitamin deficiencies, dark-colored urine, and the shortened lifespan of red blood cells. CEP is the rarest of all eight known forms of Porphyria, affecting an estimated 1 in 1,000,000 people or fewer. Because it is so rare, most doctors have never even heard of it. Justin has seen countless specialists and medical teams across multiple states, but time and time again, we leave those appointments feeling defeated. Many doctors have asked us how to spell the name of his condition, and almost none have known how to treat it or offer relief. We often walk out of those offices with no answers, no plan, and Justin still in pain. Despite everything, Justin is known for his outgoing personality, kindness, humor, and unwavering courage. He is the kind of man who helps others even on the days he can barely help himself.
He is a loving husband and a devoted father to four children, and he continues to face each day with the same positive spirit that inspires everyone who knows him
Justin Hamilton is currently unable to work due to circumstances beyond his control. He is a devoted husband and father, doing everything he can to support his family during an incredibly challenging time. His wife has remained steadfastly by his side, offering constant care and emotional support, while also caring for their children. As a result, her ability to work and generate income is limited, placing significant financial strain on the entire family.
This is a moment when compassion and community can make a real difference. Any contribution no matter the amount will go directly toward helping Justin and his family cover essential living expenses and provide stability for their children during this difficult period.
Your generosity will offer more than financial relief; it will provide hope, dignity, and reassurance to a family facing hardship together. We are deeply grateful for your support and kindness.
